Title

Sasuke breaks out of Captain Yamato's wood prison and lands on the cliff. He faces the group below calmly and they stare back. Naruto shouts out and asks why Sasuke does not understand. He yells that Orochimaru is going to take over his body.

Sasuke calmly replies that he does not really care as long as Itachi dies. At the moment neither he nor Orochimaru has the strength to beat Itachi. He goes on saying his revenge is everything and he would give up his life a million times over to have Itachi dead. The group continues stares unbelievingly.

Captain Yamato rises and says that enough is enough. He regretfully says he had wanted to avoid injuring Sasuke in front of them but now he must get serious. Yamato states that they will take Sasuke back to Konoha no matter what. Hearing this, Sasuke says he has had enough of all of them and he performs a set of seals before raising his hand.

Yamato's eyes widen and Sasuke builds up his chakra. However, a hand grabs Sasuke and Orochimaru appears saying that Sasuke is not using that technique. Sasuke tells him to leave him alone but then Kabuto appears and comments that he keeps talking rudely to Orochimaru.

Kabuto tells Sasuke that they should leave the others alive so that they may take out another member of Akatsuki. It would make their job easier because there would be less interference when they go after Itachi. Sasuke finally lowers his hand and Orochimaru suggests they leave.

Sasuke sheathes his sword and then the three of them burst into flames and disappear. Naruto can only stare on in despair and then he lowers his head saying that he could not stop Sasuke again, because he is weak.

Tears fall from his eyes and Sakura comments that crying will not make Sasuke come back. At the same time tears form in her eyes. Sakura says that they will get stronger together. Sai notes that they still have 6 months and that a team of three is better than two. Yamato looks on and smiles.

Naruto and Sakura wipe their eyes and Naruto says thank you. Yamato turns to them and says to himself: "it begins again."

Back in Konoha, Tsunade looks at Team Kakashi and sighs at their report. At the hospital, Kakashi starts when he hears that the team found Sasuke. Jiraiya continues explaining the encounter and the battle at the bridge with Kabuto and Orochimaru. He goes on saying that Naruto unleashed the 4th Tail and went on a rampage, pushing Orochimaru to his limits.

After that, the group followed Orochimaru back to his hideout where they encountered Sasuke. Jiraiya adds that Naruto was no match for Sasuke who has gotten much stronger. Kakashi nods and Jiraiya says that Naruto was not able to fight at his full potential due to the damage from the Nine Tails.

Kakashi then says that he had also expected that Naruto would have trouble. He says that Naruto has realized the gap between them and it will make him more determined to train.

Elsewhere, the village Elders converse saying it was lucky that Naruto made it back to he village. They say it was a bad idea to have sent him off without sufficient protection, also considering that he ended up fighting Orochimaru.

One comments that he should not be allowed to leave the village at all but the other says that stubborn Naruto won't agree to that easily. Tsunade looks up at the group and Naruto says that they are not giving up.

Tsunade then says that they are to stay on standby at their homes in preparation for their next mission. As they leave the building, Naruto asks Sakura to go out on a date but she says that they are supposed to go to their homes and await their next mission. Naruto says no one will find out but Sakura says he should go with himself.

Back in the Hokage's office, Tsunade asks about Sai. Yamato says that he was indeed assigned a secret mission by Danzo. Yamato explained that he was assigned to assess and eliminate dangers to Konoha. By getting to his target Orochimaru, he could find and eliminate Sasuke, Orochimaru's future body.

Tsunade says she could never understand Danzo. He's pushy, overbearing and his methods are very brutal. She comments that at the same time he is just thinking of Konoha's well-being. Yamato asks if she is talking about Danzo.

He walks over to her and tells her to hold off on her decision until she sees what Danzo had Sai give to Orochimaru as a show of faith. She opens the envelope he gives her and her eyes widen. She sees that it is a list of all their ANBU Black Ops agents. Tsunade goes through the list while Shizune watches in shock.

Tsunade throws the envelope down and wonders how Danzo got his hands on them. She turns to Shizune and tells her to go to the file storage area, assign new guards and change all the access passwords immediately. Shizune nods but Tsunade glares at her and says: "NOW!"
Shizune freaks and races out of the room.

Yamato looks on and Tsunade curses Danzo saying she can't stand him. She says that that threat from Orochimaru and Akatsuki is bad enough but now she has to worry about sabotage from the inside.

At the same time, Naruto and Sakura say bye to Sai and head off in different directions. Yamato says he has one more thing to add.

Later on, Sai meets with Danzo who comments that failing a mission is unlike him. Sai says he has a request and he asks to remain part of Team Kakashi for a while longer. Danzo stops and looks at Sai. Sai is smiling and Danzo notices something about it. Danzo says that Tsunade has already spoken to him about it.

Danzou says he trusts that Sai has not forgotten that emotions lead to hatred which in turn leads to war. Sai remembers Sasuke's words that he has a bond of hatred with his brother. Danzo walks off and Sai says to himself that it may be true. He remembers what Naruto said about Sasuke being the first person to acknowledge him and he remembers the finished page of his book.

Back at his house, Sai sits before a blank canvas. He pulls out a scroll where one word is written: "Friends." He puts the scroll to one side, and remembers his brother as well as Naruto and the others.

He smiles then picks up a brush and is about to start when Naruto calls out to him. He looks out the window where the rest of the team is waiting. He looks out and Naruto calls that it is time for their next mission. He smiles and goes out to meet them. He leaves the open scroll below the window with the word friends.

EXTRA:
Naruto goes into his house then looks at the picture of Team 7 from back when they were all Genin. Naruto and Sasuke are arguing and Naruto does not want to have a picture with Sasuke. Sakura is happy to have a picture with Sasuke but she asks if they can remove Naruto from the picture. Sasuke laughs and Naruto turns to him in anger. They face off but Kakashi turns them to face the photographer who is watching in exasperation. They all turn and the picture is taken with Naruto still glaring at Sasuke.
