Time of Awakening

As the zombies disappear, the shinobi begin to discuss their Next step with Shikamaru. Having realized that the zombies were just a distraction, they decide to investigate the village, and hopefully find Sakura and Yamato who are still chasing after the guardians.

Since Yamao and Sakura were delayed with their respective fights, Tou'o, Seito and Nauma arrive at the positions as Kitane rushes to catch up. During all of this Asuma, still trapped in Kitane's lightening cage, realizes his blade still holds the chakra current from his previous attack.

Naruto and Fuuka's fight rages on with Naruto trying to take the offensive. When Fuuka charges in with another lightening attack Naruto takes the hit wit two clones above who score a direct hit with Rasengan. As she gets up Naruto notices that, again, her body looks to have become old and decrepit. She uses Shiki Tenshin again and attacks Naruto, only this time she doesn't use lightening after a water-based attack. Naruto realizes that she cannot use lightening anymore after having been struck by the Rasengan, and decides that she must be switching bodies. After being hit by another attack Naruto again calls out to Sora. As fuuka kisses Naruto, attempting to absorb his chakra, he realizes that when her body heals after Shiki Tenshin, her hair always stays the same, never growing back, and is the only thing she gets angry about when his attacks hit. Knowing this he goes for her hair, which causes her body to become deformed again. He continues his attack and finally kills her with Rasengan.

Asuma uses Suiran Reppu which brings his blade to him, but it is blocked by the lightening cage. Meanwhile Furiido explains about Bijuu and Jinchuuriki to Sora, eventually revealing that Sora's power comes from Kyuubi's chakra that continued to linger around Konoha after its host was sealed. He tells Sora that he is a Pseudo-Jichuuriki and that his power should be able to rival Kyuubi's. He also reveals that the chakra was not sealed in him until he was five, which was when the incident at the Fire Temple occurred. Sora begins to think that he was only born for destruction.

Asuma finally escapes by using his wind nature to sharpen the blade enough to get it through the lightening, he then chases down and kills Kitane while the other Guardians chant to begin the attack. Realizing than Kitane is dead, Furiido disperses of the other three. As the guardians disappear Furiido releases the seal on Sora, and Kyuubi's power begins to pour out of Sora.
