Hiruko vs. Two Kunoichi

Sasori’s new form is easily recognized by Chiyo as his eighteenth form, Hiruko. If he succeeds in adding Sakura and Chiyo, Sasori will have a total of three hundred puppets. His real body is inside since it’s easy for a puppet master to leave themselves open when controlling their puppet. To add something to his collection, Sasori first tears out the organs, drains the blood, and then when the body cannot decay, he fills it with traps and explosives.

Outside, Kakashi can tell from Naruto’s anger that he wants to take on Deidara by himself, which is something Deidara would prefer as opposed to fighting Kakashi. Even though Sasori is stronger than Deidara, he is still a force to be reckoned with.

Chiyo explains to Sakura that Sasori, when he still lived in Suna, created many fabulous puppets and was hailed as a genius in the area. That all changed when he sparked an interest in transforming human beings into puppets. Hiruko, a former shinobi of the Suna, is an example of a human puppet: puppets that are able to maintain their original form, but it’s a bit different than Chiyo remembers. The shell on the back was never there before, so it’s defense has surely been enhanced, and Chiyo doesn’t recall seeing the left arm.

Hiruko is a battle type puppet, so Chiyo and Sakura must separate it from Sasori. Chiyo prefers that she go at it alone because she has the battle experience and can see a lot more openings and weaknesses that Sakura couldn’t. Chiyo lacks the physical strength to destroy Hiruko, and this is where Sakura, with Tsunade’s fearsome, godlike brute strength, comes in.

The plan is for the two of them to rush in, but EVERY single attack must be dodged, for all of them are poisonous. A single scratch could be fatal, but Sakura does not have the knowledge of how puppeteers battle or battle experience, so she doesn’t stand a chance. Sasori’s strength does not lie in his experience, which is why he has not attacked yet. Chiyo whispers something to Sakura so low that Sasori is unable to hear them. Once they are ready, they charge forward. Sasori rips off his mask and begins spitting out poison needles.

Back outside, Naruto jumps into the air and charges towards Deidara, only to go flying into the mountain. Kakashi deflects an explosive bird, but Deidara detonates it before it can come back to him. Deidara doesn’t understand why one Jinchuuriki would help another. Not including Gaara, Deidara and Sasori successfully defeated two Jinchuuriki already. They were not helped by the people of the village who seemed to be happy that they were gone. He comes out and tells Naruto that Gaara died when Akatsuki extracted the Ichibi from him.

Chiyo and Sakura successfully dodge every single one of Sasori’s attacks. Sakura charges forward, but Chiyo, strangely enough, doesn’t move a muscle. Just as Sasori prepares to stab Sakura with her tail, it stops dead in its tracks. Before he can do anything, Sasori feels the full on force of Sakura’s almighty punch that crushes Hiruko’s shell.

It has been twenty long years, but Chiyo finally gets to see her grandson’s face.
