Tired of waiting for Sora to show up, the leader decided to cook some potatoes and offers Sora one. The two eat until Sora picks up the scent of Kitane-sama's coffin. After realizing this, Sora and the leader begin to fight, but none of Sora's attacks even bring the leader short of breath.

Fuuka examines a burned out Naruto. After clearing some of the ash from his face, she leans forward for another try at the Kiss of Death. Again, she is fooled by a Kage Bunshin, but she is still quick enough to avoid Naruto's Rasengan. To finish showing Naruto what she can do, Fuuka uses Fuuton: Hanachiri Mai (Wind Petal Dance) and sends Naruto flying into the walls.

So now Naruto knows that Fuuka is capable of using all five elements.

Back outside, the leader makes quick work of Sora and crushes his claw. Sora flexes his fingers without the feeling of his claw attached, but that doesn't matter anymore. An incomplete, mutated hand breaks through Sora's bandages as he prepares to get serious.
Sai again tries to use what he learned in a book to become a closer friend to Sakura when he begins slowing down due to the poison. He points out that showing your vulnerable side brings people together, but stops halfway when Sakura threatens to use violence on him. To her, a book can't teach everything, but learning through experience helps more than any book will.

Fuuka continues to push Naruto back with Fuuton: Hanachiri Mai until Naruto uses his Kage Bunshins to push forward enough for one to take a swipe at Fuuka's hair. Fuuka dissolves into the earth and the real one appears from behind, enraged that Naruto would damage her hair, her life force, her essence. She traps Naruto with a paralysis jutsu and leans forward for the kiss.

Out in the open, Sora awakens and finds the landscape ravaged. According to the leader, this was the result of Sora's hidden power. Sora has a lot of untapped potential that could go to waste if he remained in the Fire Temple, so why even bother? This is the same question the leader wonders when he comments that he plans to use the four corpses for the sake of the Fire Country. Sora asks just who this man is, and he responds that he is someone who held him when he was young and knows his father.

The Kiss of Death makes its mark as Fuuka begins draining Naruto of all feeling left in his body. His chakra goes numb and Fuuka begins sucking it through a chakra string connected by the both of their mouths. As this occurs, Sakura and Sai arrive, though Sakura is angrier at seeing Naruto lip locked than Sai. As this goes on, Sora senses that Naruto is in danger and flees the leader.

Fuuka, Fuen and Fuudo stop all attempts by Sakura and Yamato to stop Fuuka from finishing off Naruto. Before she can, however, she starts inhaling a demonic chakra- the chakra of the Kyuubi- and breaks free from the kiss. Fuudo imprisons Yamato, Sakura and Sai with Doton: Ganchuurou no Jutsu (Earth Earth Pillar Prison). Sora bursts through the wall- claiming that he heard Naruto call him- and prepares to fight, but before the fight can begin, the area becomes unstable and starts crumbling.

Chiriku and the rest of the monks from the temple have arrived just as Fuuka, Fuen, Fuudo and the Leader make their exit.

With Sai unable to do much due to his arm, the request is that Sora goes to Konoha with Team Yamato to take his place, report to Tsunade what has happened and receive new instructions.

In the end, the decision is up to Sora, who remains silent.
