Chiyo's Inner Hand

Deidara hasn’t gained that much distance between himself and Naruto and Kakashi, so he decides to slow them down with a few explosive clay birds. Naruto barely misses the explosion from one, Kakashi pierces one with a shuriken, but one still explodes near him. It’s only bad luck for Deidara, however, since he’s running low on clay. Things aren’t going that well for the others, either, since Kakashi and Naruto are moving too far away from Sakura and Chiyo and eventually won’t be able to keep in contact with Gai’s team.

Speaking of Gai’s team, they still aren’t faring that well against their individual clones.

Sakura is in a bind…literally. While Chiyo is holding onto her with her chakra strings, Sasori has a hold on her with kunai attached to rope. If Sakura is pulled in one direction by Chiyo, Sasori responds by pulling her in the opposite direction, keeping her within the poisonous gas. Even as the cloud begins to disperse, another poison gas emits from one of the tubes in Sasori’s puppet. Sakura, who has managed to hold her breath for this long, thinks back to how she promised Naruto that she’d help save Sasuke next time around. She can’t die this soon! The cloud soon disperses due to an explosive note that Sakura had and she goes flying into Chiyo’s arms, free of the binds that held her.

At first, Chiyo notices that Sakura isn’t breathing, but she settles that with a hard pat on the back. Sakura weakly gets up and vows that no matter what Sasori does to her, be it poison or tearing her limbs off, she’ll capture him and make him tell her about Orochimaru. Sasori’s response comes in the form of six kunai shot from the tubes of his puppet straight at Sakura.

Back outside, Deidara tries to separate Naruto and Kakashi by throwing some explosive spiders in Kakashi’s direction, but the plan fails and Kakashi realizes what Deidara is trying to do. Deidara’s next plan is to take on both Naruto and Kakashi at the same time, but he doesn’t have enough clay to do that. He does have another supply back in the cave, as well as an ace up his sleeve in case of emergency.

Sakura opens her eyes and sees that the attack has been blocked by two puppets that Chiyo summoned. The puppets, both all too familiar to Sasori, are “Father” and “Mother,” his parents. Sasori doesn’t think much of it since they were his first creations and he’d know everything there is to know about them, but Chiyo thinks otherwise.

Chiyo has the two puppets join hands to draw out wire that is used to sever all of the arms from Sasori’s puppet before he can withdraw them. The three puppets go at it in an all or nothing…puppet brawl until all of their weapons are shattered. Getting fed up, Sasori reveals another trick: the Sandaime Kazekage’s jutsu that made people see him as the strongest of all. It’s the most feared weapon in Suna: the Iron Sand.
